Real Madrid would look to finish the season on a high note as they would take on Barcelona next month without one of their key players.
Real Madrid are currently going through one of the most challenging phases of their campaign. Despite hopes of winning any major trophy at the end of this campaign, it looks all but over; the fans are still demanding a strong finish to the season, with only six games left to play in the league.
As it stands, Barcelona already has one hand on the La Liga trophy as they are nine points clear of Los Blancos, who are currently placed second.
There seems to be a tiny ray of hope amongst the Madrid fans regarding a sudden change of fates during the final few games of their ongoing miserable campaign.
After a winless run of five games in all competitions, the Merengues were finally back to winning ways as they defeated Alaves by 2-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu as Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior were on target for the hosts.
Both Real and Barca will now play two back-to-back away matches over the next two weekends, and Madrid would want their rivals to drop a few points before going into the El Clasico next month, which would also be Los Blancos' third straight away fixture at the Camp Nou.
And according to reports, Alvaro Arbeloa's men might breathe a sigh of relief during the highly anticipated game, as one of Barcelona's brightest stars, Lamine Yamal, is all set to miss it due to an injury he sustained last night against Celtic Vigo.
A report from Barcelona's official website read, "The tests carried out have confirmed that first-team player Lamine Yamal has a hamstring injury in his left leg,
"The player will follow a conservative treatment plan. Lamine Yamal will miss the remainder of the season, and he is expected to be available for the World Cup."
The 18-year-old seems to have already done his job well at the Camp Nou this season as the youngster has already racked up 24 goals and 18 assists for the Blaugranas during the ongoing campaign.
Despite Yamal being ruled out of the El Clasico next month, Madrid seemingly would have to deal with their own problems first, as two of their key players, Arda Guler and Eder Militao, have been ruled out for the rest of the season after sustaining recent injuries.
Real Madrid would now take on Real Betis and Espanyol without the duo, as Los Blancos look to win both games and do their bit before taking on the Blaugranas on the 10th of May.
