According to recent reports, the dressing room at Real Madrid are unhappy with one particular star player and his conduct over the last couple of weeks

It has been a completely miserable couple of seasons for everyone involved with Real Madrid

The team have failed to win the UEFA Champions League in the last two years, and we are on the verge of the same being true in La Liga too. Likewise in the Copa Del Rey, which has not been won since 2023.

Many have, despite the sheer amount of goals he has scored since arriving in the Spanish capital, attributed this to the signing of Kylian Mbappe. Many have suggested that his stats being so good have lead to the decline in numbers of other players, especially Vinicius and Jude Bellingham.

Furthermore, there are accusations labelled at the Frenchman that he has ruined the previously impeccable harmony of the squad, making the dressing room toxic and destroying the "power of friendship" vibe that was there prior to him signing for the club in the summer of 2024.

Well, perhaps there is well and truly an element of truth to that. Indeed, as Spanish newspaper El Mundo are reporting that the Real Madrid dressing room believe that Mbappe is "being unprofessional".

They state that the dressing room does not understand his behaviour "at all", especially his decision to go on holiday to Italy with his girlfriend before the season is even over.

An interesting report. As it stands, it is believed that the 27-year old will miss the rest of the season with an injury. Many fans have accused Mbappe of "faking" this injury now the season is all but over in terms of La Liga, and that he is saving himself to be in the best condition for France at the World Cup.

Now, it is hard to prove this theory, but it certainly does not wash well with the supporters that he is going on holiday during the season, even if he is actually injured. They believe he should have the utmost professionalism and be with the team.

So, if the report is true, and the players also believe that, it is not a good look. It would be really interesting to know what the likes of Vinicius and Bellingham think. They would never, ever admit it publicly, but you wonder if - having been a part of the successful 23/24 side - they wish they could go back to the squad dynamics, on and off the pitch, of that season.

Well, certainly one to keep an eye on either way.
