According to reports today, the 21st of July 2026, two Real Madrid first team players are set to be loaned out away from the club for the upcoming season.
With this summer's FIFA World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico now fully done and dusted, attention has now turned back to Real Madrid and the new era under Jose Mourinho.
Until the season starts - and even after it has begun, for a little while - a lot of focus will be on this summer's transfer window. After the past two simply disastrous seasons, it is important that the club has a productive window, both with ins and outs, to avoid the same thing happening once again.
The club have already moved to bring in Denzel Dumfries, Ibrahima Konate, Marc Cucurella and Bernardo Silva, whilst Endrick has returned from his productive loan spell at Ligue 1 side Lyon.
There have been outgoings too. Fran Garcia has joined Real Betis on a permanent deal after three years at the club, whilst Dani Ceballos mutually had his contract terminated, nine years after joining Real Madrid.
Well, it looks like there could be another couple of players offloaded. Indeed so, as it is being reported by Aranacha Rodriguez that Raul Asencio and Franco Mastantuono are expected to leave the club on loan.
This is an interesting report. If we are being totally honest, would Asencio leaving the club on loan actually help anyone? He is already 23 years of age, he is hardly super young anymore. By the time he returns, he would be 24. Definitely not a young player at that point.
Truth be told, he is not Real Madrid level. And that is okay, not everybody is. You have to be exceptionally good to be that level, and he falls short of that. It feels like it would be best for everyone if he was to leave the club on a permanent basis. To fully kickstart his career with a fresh chapter. Being farmed out on loan at his age is not really helping anyone.
As for Mastantuono, it certainly feels more understandable. He is still just 18 years old (19 next month), and can still develop. Last season was just his first in Europe, it is a big step up from River Plate. There is more to work with there long term than with Asencio, you feel. But ah well, let's see.
