Real Madrid's only goalscorer during the first leg against Bayern Munich missed today's training session, which has concerned the fans.

Real Madrid fans once again left the Santiago Bernabeu in despair as Los Blancos were held by a 12th-place Girona side on Friday, with questions already arising regarding their team's chances against Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena.

Over the last two matches, the Whites have been far from their best, even after Alvaro Arbeloa almost changing the whole squad during their previous game, while leaving out both the starting full-backs of the first leg against Bayern from the matchday squad.

Apparently, this wasn't the situation before the international break, as Arbeloa's men looked to be in complete control, as they were on a five-match winning streak before the break, which included crucial victories against Manchester City and Atletico Madrid.

But as club football resumed, so did the struggles of Los Blancos, as they are currently winning fewer games, even after the return of Kylian Mbappé and Jude Bellingham following their injuries.

Despite Mbappe scoring the only goal against the Bavarians during the first leg, the Frenchman has been far from his best self as he struggled to keep the shots on target, which on any other day he would have buried in the back of the net.

Mbappe's recent form would definitely be a concern for the club, but he would still be a massive presence in any game, as Madrid hopes for a major turnaround in Munich, with the World Cup winner leading from the front.

Although it seems the fans received a more worrisome update regarding their top goalscorer this season, as Mbappe missed Los Blancos' training session on Sunday.

Mbappe received a severe blow to his right eyebrow during the game against Girona, as Víctor Reis' trailing elbow seemingly knocked the Frenchman off his feet, leaving Arbeloa and the home fans furious, as Los Blancos were denied an "obvious" penalty, according to the manager.

The 27-year-old decided to train indoors due to the injury, as Real Madrid provided an update on the situation on their official website (h/t Football Espana) saying, "Mbappe, who received stitches above his right eyebrow after the match against Girona, was unable to train on the pitch due to discomfort and as a precaution."

Mbappe is expected to return to the field during tomorrow's training session, but his situation remains unclear as of now. Hopefully, the Frenchman will be ready for the all-important clash against the Bavarians on Wednesday at the Allianz Arena.
