Former midfielder and Real Madrid icon Toni Kroos recently addressed a report claiming Germany coach Jurgen Klopp was emailing ex-stars for help in his new role, joking that he has yet to receive anything.

Real Madrid legend Toni Kroos, who played at the Bernabeu from 2014 to 2024, recently joked on the podcast Einfach mal Luppen. Mentioning that he is still waiting for a call from the coach, Jurgen Klopp. This refers to a news story that recently came out, where it was revealed that Klopp had contacted multiple ex-stars by email to ask for their support with the national team.

"I read it too, but nothing has arrived yet. Maybe I do not deserve to be in the national team. I will send him a message on WhatsApp to ask him where my email is. I was so excited, but then nothing happened. I bet Kevin Grosskreutz (38-year-old footballer from Eichlinghofen) did receive it," joked the former Germany international and 2014 world champion.

Klopp's start as Germany's coach has not been very convincing. With a draw against the Netherlands and a home defeat against Greece, many fans have begun to launch the first criticisms of his tenure, although, of course, this process has barely begun and requires time to be able to translate his idea of the game onto the team.

The German national team has gone quite a long time without achieving anything important, specifically since 2014 when they were world champions. However, since then they have strung together a series of bad results. Eliminated in the group stage of the 2018 and 2022 World Cups. Until 2026, under Julian Nagelsmann, they broke that "curse," but they fell in the same way very early, specifically in the round of 32.

For its part, Real Madrid and Madridismo continue to greatly lament his early retirement, since he did it as a Champions League champion in 2024. Since then, the team has tried in multiple ways, with Aurelien Tchouameni and Federico Valverde trying to emulate the majestic Kroos-Modric duo, but nothing has worked in the same way.

Eduardo Camavinga has also been one of the recurring ones at Madrid, but he has been far from performing at the same level as the German. Without a doubt, his time wearing white was magnificent. Winning five Champions Leagues and 4 leagues (among many other competitions), which makes the team's fans sigh whenever they remember both his name and that of the Croatian.

Currently, Jose Mourinho keeps using different combinations to verify, at the end of the day, which one will lead Real Madrid back to being crowned the undisputed king of Europe.
