According to media reports on Monday evening (the 10th of August, 2026), Real Madrid have now made a decision regarding Endrick and the transfer window.
As well as the several incomings for Real Madrid this season— Marc Cucurella, Denzel Dumfries, Ibrahima Konate, Bernardo Silva, Yan Diomande and Carlos Espi, there have been a few players going out the other way too as part of the rebuild.
Dani Carvajal and David Alaba left the club at the end of their contracts, whilst Dani Ceballos had his contract mutually terminated by the club (still yet to find a new club). Meanwhile, Fran Garcia joined Real Betis, before Cesar Palacios and Gonzalo Garcia decided to team up with Alvaro Arbeloa at Fulham. Elsewhere, Franco Mastantuono joined Fiorentina on a loan deal.
It looked as if another player may have departed the club, also on loan, with Endrick being linked to a number of clubs both in the Premier League and on the continent this summer.
However, that will not be the case. Indeed not, as Mario Cortegana of The Athletic has this evening (Monday the 10th of August) reported that Endrick will be staying at Real Madrid this summer, with the club and Jose Mourinho making the decision (perhaps implying that Endrick wanted a loan move).
It is also worth mentioning that his situation will be reviewed again in January, with a loan then possible in the winter transfer window if he has not been receiving regular game time in the next few months.
Hate to be cynical, but not sure this is the right idea. The fact they are ready to review the situation in January shows they are conscious of the fact he may well not get regular minutes in the first half of the season.
Last summer, it felt like he should go on loan to get game time. He didn’t. He then played an accumulative 88 minutes in the first half of the season and the situation got so drastic that the loan deal to Lyon in January was already agreed by Christmas time.
That may have been under a different manager in Xabi Alonso, but it feels like history may well repeat itself this time round. With Kylian Mbappe and Carlos Espi up front, and record signing Yan Diomande on the right wing - where are the starts going to come from?
Although Rodrygo was available in the first half of last season, the fact Diomande is a club record deal suggests he is going to play more often than not, and there was no Espi last season either - a €25m investment rather than an academy player (Garcia). So the situation is arguably worse.
But, well, let’s wait and see. Hopefully it ends up being a lot more positive than that.
