As a result, they are now looking to give up one of their younger targets, as Fabrizio Romano reports that Los Blancos have decided to cash in on Victor Munoz rather than activate the buy-back clause, which was in place when the winger decided to join Osasuna last season.
Munoz scored a total of seven goals and provided five assists in all competitions for Osasuna during the previous campaign, as his side avoided relegation thanks to their superior goal difference.
The 22-year-old got inducted into Los Blancos' first team during the 2024-25 campaign as both decided that it was time for the youngster to leave to get more game time, but the Whites made sure that they are in control when the time comes to decide on the winger's future.
Now, with Premier League side Newcastle United all set to sign the Spaniard on a permanent deal, Los Blancos have decided to move on from the talent that they seemingly snatched away from Barcelona back in 2021.
Complying with 50% sell-on clause in Munoz's contract, Madrid could make a profit of around €17 million when Osasuna agrees on a deal with the Magpies during the summer transfer window.
Although Los Blancos might have made their decision on the youngster, unlike their Spanish contingent, he seemingly caught the attention of Luis de la Fuente, who looks forward to representing his nation in the ongoing World Cup in North America.
As for the Whites are concerned, a future move for the 22-year-old can never be ruled out, as a lot of past instances have seen players return to the Bernabeu even after moving out on permanent transfers.
