Despite the midfielder's poor display last season, the squad is reportedly backing him to regain his form under Jose Mourinho.

Real Madrid have already brilliantly started their season under new manager Jose Mourinho, who will now look to execute his plans for the rest of the campaign with his current squad.

The club management has done exceptionally well in this term's summer transfer window, adding six quality players to support their new manager.

The Whites have also balanced their activities quite well this time with the departures of a few players who were likely to struggle for minutes under the Portuguese manager this season.

However, one such player whose exit from the Spanish capital almost looked imminent, until the player himself decided otherwise.

With the addition of Bernardo Silva and the rumours surrounding a probable arrival of Rodri from Manchester City, which certainly didn't happen, Eduardo Camavinga's place in Mourinho's midfield came under a massive threat.

Camavinga was heavily linked with a move to the Premier League, with interest coming in from Manchester United and Chelsea.

Despite the rumour mill, the French midfielder decided to stay put and revive his career with the Merengues.

Now, as it seems, the 23-year-old midfielder is already reaping the fruits of his resilience.

As reported by Diario AS, the squad is already backing Camavinga to regain his form with the Whites and succeed under Mourinho this term.

Camavinga and Mourinho also have a mutual admiration for each other, despite the manager already conveying that Camavinga is unlikely to get a spot in Mourinho's starting lineup at this point.

His performance against Malaga was certainly a step in the right direction, and he would like to continue that against Real Betis this weekend.

Unfortunately, the French international won't take part in Los Blancos' Champions League opener against Inter Milan due to the red card which he received against Bayern Munich in the quarter-final stage of the competition last campaign.

Another positive aspect of Camavinga's Real Madrid career is the fact that he has already achieved so much with the Whites, and he is only 23!

The Frenchman already has two Champions League winner's medals to his name to showcase his exploits with the Whites.

There is little doubt regarding the midfielder's quality on the pitch, which is already being recognised by his teammates and the coaching staff.

As it stands, Camavinga seems convinced by one of Luka Modric's former quotes: "When you leave here, nothing is the same. From there (Real Madrid) you can only go down".
