Now, as we enter the final phases of the transfer window, there is little doubt regarding Los Blancos' success so far.
Following the appointment of Jose Mourinho as their new manager, Los Blancos have already brought in the likes of Ibrahima Konate, Bernardo Silva, Marc Cucurella, Denzel Dumfries, Carlos Espi and Yan Diomande in order to bolster their squad.
The Merengues have also carried out departure operations at quite a similar pace: Dani Carvajal, David Alaba, Fran Garcia, Gonzalo Garcia and Franco Mastantuono have already left the Spanish capital, either on permanent or loan moves.
Although, as it seems, Los Blancos are still pushing for at least another exit before the transfer window ends.
Apparently, three players, Raul Asencio, Ferland Mendy and Eduardo Camavinga, have been on that shortlist of probable departures for some time now.
But one thing has been common to all three players: they are seemingly reluctant to fight for their spot in Mourinho's squad.
While Asencio and Mendy are still recovering from their respective injuries, Camavinga has been a prominent figure in Los Blancos' pre-season preparations this summer.
The French midfielder played out the full 90 minutes against Deportivo La Coruna on Wednesday as Los Blancos went on to lift the Teresa Herrera trophy thanks to Brahim Diaz's goal right before the end of the first half.
Camavinga completed more than 90% of his passes and came out the winner in every duel he went for against the Deportivo players.
The 23-year-old has seemingly done no wrong during the Whites' pre-season campaign so far as Los Blancos continue their winning streak under their new manager.
Camavinga's brilliant form and recent rejection from Rodri might just turn out to be enough to convince the Merengues to shut down their operations to reinforce their midfield for the time being.
The Frenchman's convincing display and relentless urge to stay at Real Madrid have also seemingly waved off the recent interest coming from the Premier League.
Both Chelsea and Manchester United (h/t GOAL) were reportedly interested in the versatile midfielder this summer, but now, with the recent developments, they are already looking for alternatives.
There is no doubt regarding the quality that Camavinga possesses, but the midfielder's inconsistent form during the past couple of seasons was slowly turning into a major roadblock for his future at Real Madrid.
Now, the Frenchman looks forward to building upon his pre-season exploits and fighting for his spot in the squad under Mourinho this season as the Whites prepare for Schalke, which will also be their penultimate game of the pre-season this summer.
