The Real Madrid defender minced no words while criticizing his side's mistakes during their first Leg loss against Bayern Munich.
Despite losing the first leg of the quarter-final tie 2-1, Real Madrid would definitely be happy to walk out with only two goals conceded on the night, as Bayern could have easily scored two more past Andriy Lunin during the first half itself.
Los Blancos' defense looked completely out of place against Bayern's deadly attacking trio of Luis Diaz, Harry Kane, and Michael Olise, as Alvaro Carreras looked second-best throughout the 90 minutes against Olise's dazzling footwork.
Aurelien Tchouameni and Thiago Pitarch also failed miserably against the likes of Serge Gnabry and Joshua Kimmich during last night's clash at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Los Blancos looked to have made one too many missed passes during the course of the game which at times gave Bayern a clean shot at goal but fortunately for the hosts Bayern were unable to pounce on those loose balls until Luiz Diaz opened the scoring from a brilliantly threaded through ball from Gnabry during the 41st minute of the match, while Kane converted a brilliantly laid down ball from Olise only a minute into the second half.
The fans were visibly unhappy with their team's performance during the match, which now has seemingly been matched by one of their own players, as Fabrizio Romano posted Antonio Rudiger's words of frustration on his X account, as it quoted the German defender saying, "We fu---d up twice, on both goals. We gave them two gifts. At this level, you can't keep losing the ball that easily."
Of course, Rudiger doesn't intend to show his teammates in a bad light, but the defender is known for his candid comments, as was the case with his recent remarks, as the German himself had a game to forget last night.
Although Los Blancos are definitely not out of the tie, as Kylian Mbappe was able to cut Bayern's lead to just one goal as he scored from a brilliant low cross by Trent Alexander-Arnold in the 71st minute, giving the Whites all the reasons to be hopeful of a turnaround at the Allianz Arena.
If Real can learn from their mistakes, as pointed out by Rudiger, and play the way they played during the final 30 minutes of the game with the trio of Mbappe, Vinicius Junior, and Jude Bellingham on the pitch, nothing should look like a distant dream for the 15-time European champions.
