Real Madrid president Florentino Perez threw a few stones at the city's rival, Atletico Madrid, during his press conference.

Florentino Perez held a press conference in which he was very transparent about his feelings toward journalists, other clubs, and his team, Real Madrid. For approximately one hour, which was the duration of this talk by the president, he did not hesitate to throw some stones at the city rival, Atletico Madrid.

“If they want me to leave, I will leave when someone comes like now and beats me in the elections. If someone beats me in the elections, blessed be God. The ownership belongs to the members, not to a few concentrated journalists who, I suppose, are Atletico fans.” That was the first stone he threw at the city rival, clearly implying that those who criticize both him and the club are often Atletico fans.

Florentino also did not hesitate to bring up the Negreira case again, commenting that they continue gathering evidence to give to UEFA so that the matter can be resolved, which many people want to consider closed because it is an “old” case, but Florentino does not think that way and will do everything possible to conclude.

“And I also want to give the club’s assets to the members, as I have said I will do. It belongs to them; I am not like other clubs that kept the club and then sold it, enriching themselves. I am voted by the members, not by the ultras.” This would be the second stone at Atletico because it is well known that currently an American firm (Apollo) owns 57% of the club.

Concluding with the last little stone, “What will the other clubs say? What is happening to Atletico Madrid? Why don’t they go after Atletico? There is no club in history like Madrid. Do they want me to win 10-0 every day? We will achieve it, don’t worry.”

And thus closing a series of comments that the Real Madrid president dedicated to his second great rival. Without a doubt, a conference completely worth watching, because seeing Florentino with this level of sincerity on camera is not very common. Unfortunately, he decided not to talk about signings for next season, so all of that remains a mystery.
