After an exceptional month throughout October, Real Madrid forward and talisman Kylian Mbappe has been recognised for his superb efforts by being named the La Liga Player of the Month.
During the month of October, Real Madrid won all three of their La Liga games, as they defeated Villarreal, Sevilla and FC Barcelona, reducing the gap to the latter down to three points in the process.
The win over Villarreal came thanks to a goal from Yan Diomande, whilst the Ivorian joined Kylian Mbappe (x2) and Arda Guler on the scoresheet in the win against Sevilla the following weekend.
After that, Mbappe made it two braces in two games, as he scored both the goals in tha famous win at the Camp Nou, the first time Barcelona had failed to win a La Liga home game since all the way back in the 24/25 season. As touched on there, this helped narrow the gap to just three points, albeit Atletico Madrid are also in the way. But not only an impressive win, but an absolutely crucial win too.
As a result of this, the Frenchman has been recognised by La Liga by officially winning the Player of the Month award for October. He overcame fellow nominees Matias Dituro (Elche), Goncalo Guedes (Real Sociedad), Alejandro Grimaldo (Atletico Madrid), and Lamine Yamal (Barcelona) to win the award. Well deserved, you have to say.
Funnily enough, this comes despite not even being nominated for Real Madrid Player of the Month— with those nominations instead going to Thibaut Courtois, Dean Huijsen, Jude Bellingham, Federico Valverde and Yan Diomande. But listen, fair play.
It has been a good start to November for Mbappe and the team too, with a 3-0 win away to previously unbeaten at home Racing Club, where the 27-year old scored from the penalty spot, albeit a contentious decision to say the very least. But, well, you take those at the end of the day.
Let's hope that both he and the rest of the team can continue this form throughout the month of November, either side of the international break, and well, let's see how close the team will be to Barcelona by the end of that. Crucially, they play against Atletico Madrid during November, and also in early December too, so at least one of those two will be dropping points.
So, to recap - Mbappe is the official La Liga player of the month for October, after his four goals in three games and helping the team to win all three of their games. Many congratulations to him, again, well deserved.
