The player understands what it means to wear the Real Madrid shirt, all the honor and responsibility that this symbolizes, which is why he longs to return to the pitch very soon
Real Madrid player Eder Militao declared that he is aware of "the weight of the Real Madrid shirt," but that it is also an "honor" to wear it, ahead of the league match against Mallorca and the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals against Bayern Munich.
"We know the weight of the Real Madrid shirt, and we know it is an honor to play here, that's why whenever I am on the field, I leave my life. I really want to play again, and my feelings are among the best. Anxious to be able to play," he added, in statements collected by the club.
Militao has participated in 16 matches this season across LaLiga and the Champions League. He has not set foot on the pitch since he fell injured against Celta Vigo on Dec. 7. He is now in the final stretch of recovery from his fibrillar tear and is already working with the group.
"I think today it's not just about playing, you have to take care of yourself off the field, always be at the maximum level, even if you are not playing or coming off an injury, you always have to prepare to be at 100%. I try to always improve in terms of duels, recovery, defensive and offensive set pieces," he reflected.
"When I am playing, I try to focus on what I do well, although sometimes it doesn't come out 100%, and what doesn't come out 100%, I keep working on so that in the next game, I don't make the same mistake. I don't like to lose, I don't like to be sad. Football is not always joy, but whenever I play, I try to give my maximum," he pointed out.
The Brazilian gave his opinion on his team's next match, against Mallorca, next Saturday: "We know the difficulty of every game. Mallorca has a good team; they always fight until the end. We have to be alert, because football is about details. We have to be not at 100%, but at 200%."
In addition, he referred to the match against Bayern, which will be played next Tuesday. "Champions League nights at the Bernabeu are a spectacle, the fans help us, they support us a lot. In matches like against Bayern, we know the quality they have, but we love this competition," he concluded.
