With interest from Real Madrid, the player is expected to submit a formal transfer request to his current club following the recent rift.

Real Madrid could be planning a massive raid into the Premier League during the upcoming summer transfer window, as they aim to reinforce their squad while trying to survive one of their poorest campaigns in recent times.

Los Blancos are heavily linked with players like Rodri, Adam Wharton, and William Saliba as of now, and they might already be moving in to start negotiations with their respective clubs.

According to recent rumors, the Whites are also keeping tabs on Chelsea's Enzo Fernandez, who has been one of the Chels' key players since coming into the side for a record transfer fee of €121 million in 2023.

The Argentine midfielder has undoubtedly proved his worth at Stamford Bridge, but the Blues' recent decisions have seemingly frustrated the midfielder as he openly criticized the club's decision to sack Enzo Maresca mid-way through the season, and also when he was asked about which city he would like to stay in, Fernandez replied 'Madrid'.

The Blues' management seemed offended by Enzo's recent comments, as Los Blancos' interest in the midfielder is no longer a secret; as a result, Liam Rosenior and the club decided to ban the 25-year-old for two matches.

As expected, this decision hasn't boded well for the player and his camp, and now a report from Spanish media house El Chiringuito (h/t GOAL) suggests that Fernandez is expected to submit a transfer request in the coming days.

Recently his Agent, Javier Pastore was seen criticizing the Blues following the decision of his client's suspension for the games against Port Vale in the FA Cup and Manchester City in the league saying, "The punishment is completely unfair — banning the player for two matches, which moreover are also absolutely crucial for Chelsea because qualification for the Champions League is at stake and he is one of the team’s most important players.

"Alongside others, of course, but he has proven himself this year to be a leader and a key player, the backbone of this Chelsea side. I think it’s far too harsh given Chelsea’s current situation, and there’s no real reason or justification for why he has been banned."

Pastore also mentioned that they will explore other options after the World Cup if the Chels fail to meet his client's current valuation, as the former PSG man believes his client's current contract doesn't reflect Enzo's impact at Stamford Bridge since coming in.

With all the recent developments surrounding the player, the rumors of a probable exit request coming in from the Argentine international's camp is certainly not far off from reality which could see Los Blancos dictating the terms despite the midfielder's contract set to expire in 2032 although the Blues would definitely not let go of their costliest player for less than what he was brought for as Chelsea have reportedly set a price tag of around £130 million on Fernandez for the upcoming transfer window.
