Today, Friday the 17th of July 2026, we are here to provide you with an update on all the latest news regarding Real Madrid and the summer transfer window.

With the World Cup coming to an end, attention is already shifting back to Real Madrid and the summer transfer window. Amidst the chaos of the tournament, it is understandable to be slightly lagging behind when it comes to the latest news, so let's keep you updated as of today, the 17th of July 2026.

So, let us begin. Where better to start than clearing up the latest news regarding the links to Bayern Munich superstar Michael Olise, which have made a comeback this week after going a bit quiet during the World Cup.

According to Arancha Rodriguez, Real Madrid will only go for Olise if: He officially asks to leave Bayern, Bayern accept selling him, and the team sells one of its existing big stars.

The last point marries up well with a report from L'Equipe, who say that the club are prepared to sell Vinicius this summer if it means they can fund a move to sign the Frenchman. As it stands, his contract that expires next summer has not been extended.

Elsewhere, L'Equipe have also reported that Real Madrid would need to cough up 200-250 million Euros in order to complete the signing of the 24-year old - with their opening bid set to be launched "imminently" according to the French based outlet.

Meanwhile, Diario AS have reported that Los Blancos considered signing Spurs right-back Pedro Porro before they signed Denzel Dumfries, before ultimately deciding to sign the Dutchman. In fairness, Porro has had a very good World Cup, and there is a good chance he is a World Champion by the end of the weekend.

However, he is very similar profile wise to Trent Alexander-Arnold, so perhaps the club decided it would be better to have a different type of player in that position with Dumfries. You can understand why they may have come to that conclusion.

Marca are reporting that Real Madrid believe that the "main part" of their summer transfer window is done. Interesting what they mean by that, as in the numbers - four players signed already and perhaps just one or more two left, or do they mean that there will not be a marquee signing? Up to you to make your mind up on that.

To finish off, as we aggregated earlier, former Real Madrid player, Castilla and first team coach, Alvaro Arbeloa, is said to have asked his new side, Fulham, to enquire for Gonzalo Garcia, Cesar Palacios and Franco Mastantuono.
