Real Madrid have reportedly taken a crucial decision following their players' brilliant performances in the ongoing World Cup.

The ongoing World Cup has been really fruitful for most Real Madrid players, as they have now combined for 17 goals and 15 assists so far in the tournament.

Los Blancos also made some significant additions to their squad during the initial phases of the summer transfer window, namely, Ibrahima Konate, Marc Cucurella, Bernando Silva, and Denzel Dumfries, which saw the Whites add one representative each in Spain, Portugal, and the Netherlands.

Although the Whites are certainly not done yet with the transfer window, as they are now being extensively linked with Michael Olise and Erling Haaland, two highly rated international stars.

But as per a recent report by journalist Abraham Romero (h/t Madrid Zone X), Los Merengues have decided to stick with their current lot of midfielders for the upcoming season.

This decision is believed to be influenced by two factors: first, the financial side of things, as the Merengues are having second thoughts regarding the high asking price for some of their key midfield targets.

Second, the club management is also reportedly satisfied with their current lot's performances in the ongoing World Cup, especially with Jude Bellingham and Aurelien Tchouameni, who have done extremely well so far in the competition and might even face each other in the final, which is scheduled for July 19th.

Recent reports from Real Madrid Roundtable also suggested that Jose Mourinho has shown his trust in Federico Valverde, who is all set to wear the captain's armband starting from this season onwards.

Alongside the Uruguayan, Arda Guler will also report for pre-season earlier than a lot of the other Los Blancos stars due to Turkiye's group stage exit from the World Cup.The Turkish midfielder also has a point to prove at the Spanish capital, more so with Mourinho now in charge, and a good pre-season could be a huge advantage for Guler going into the new campaign.

Most importantly, this reported decision could also hand Eduardo Camavinga a crucial lifeline, as the French midfielder was being heavily linked with a move away from the Merengues, regardless of his desire to fight for his position under the new manager.

The only concern that remains is whether the Whites will look to replace Dani Ceballos or whether Mourinho will look to build his team around the current midfielders.

Hopefully, we'll get that answer when the Portuguese manager gets to know his team during the later stages of the pre-season.
