Real Madrid the "only club" Bayern Munich Star Would Sign For

Last summer, it felt very clear that Real Madrid would have liked to sign Bayern Munich and France national team forward, Michael Olise. 

Fans will recall back at the beginning of June, during the club's presidential elections, Florentino Perez referred to a '150m Euros' signing the club would have liked to make, with many saying the player in question was Olise.

The issue for Los Blancos: it was going to take a hell of a lot more than that to prize the Frenchman out of Munich, considering his critical importance to Vincent Kompany and his side. 

However, there is one way for the value of a 24 year old who is always improving to drop - a contract that starts to run out. As it stands, Olise has a contract until 2029, meaning that from next summer, he will enter the final two years of that deal, if nothing is signed before then. 

According to Sky Sports Germany (via MadridXtra), if Real Madrid do not make a concrete move for Olise, a renewal with Bayern is very likely. Jose Mourinho's side are seen as the only club that could discourage him from an extension. 

Meanwhile, fellow German outlet BILD (via theMadridZone) are reporting that the club remain interested in the winger, and very interestingly, it is said that the player's camp definitely want a release clause in any new contract. 

Needless to say, if this could somehow get done, it would be an incredible signing. There is no doubt that for the last two years or so, Olise has been one of the very best players in the world, and he has gone up another level in the past year or so. 

The elephant in the room is that a club record fee was spent on Yan Diomande in that position last year. Although that was a lot of money, it is an expensive signing to move to the bench so quickly. Furthermore, the form of Arda Guler has been exceptional so far this season, so that is another thing to consider with Olise. Particularly as that is another player keeping Diomande out of the side. 

Still, a player of Olise's level is hard to pass on, especially as he is someone who already has a connection and chemistry with Kylian Mbappe. Certainly one you hope to keep an eye on as long as there is still hope. Let's wait and see.
