Whilst you may all be distracted by this summer's FIFA World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico, here is your latest update on Real Madrid in the transfer window
Although Real Madrid have already moved to bring in as many as four players in this summer's transfer window in Marc Cucurella, Ibrahima Konate, Denzel Dumfries and Bernardo Silva, there is still an expectancy that there is plenty of business still yet to be done, regarding both incomings and outgoings.
So, let's take a look at the latest updates from today (Tuesday the 23rd).
Let's begin with reports from The Athletic. They report that Real Madrid are working on the exits of Raul Asencio, Dani Ceballos and Fran Garcia, with the club believing they have "at least" three players surplus to requirements in the squad.
Meanwhile, they also report that Manuel Angel will leave the club, though his destination is unknown, whilst Thiago Pitarch's future in the Spanish capital is "unclear". They state that the aforementioned four signings have Los Blancos believing they have built one of the strongest squads in years.
Elsewhere, Italian journalist Matteo Moretto reports that Real Madrid and Como will discuss the future of Nico Paz this Thursday (the 25th of June), with Como already informed of the club's intentions to bring him back and evaluate his performance. He says one of the options being considered is to put him on the market for 60 million Euros.
Sergi Valentin reports that La Liga side Real Betis would like to sign F. Garcia, but the club want a fee of 20 million Euros for the left back, which Betis are not willing to pay, in fact, they are "nowhere near" willing to pay, as per Valentin - and negotiations are currently on hold.
Let's move onto journalist Guillermo Rai of The Athletic, who has plenty to report. To begin, he says the club's priority is to move players on. He also states that Jose Mourinho is looking for a signing in three positions: Centre back, midfielder, and striker. "Midfielder" is a bit of a broad term, but you'd imagine it would be a deep lying type of profile.
Rai states that Alvaro Carreras would like to stay at the club, despite the arrival of Marc Cucurella. Meanwhile, Asencio "has chances" to leave this summer, with Jorge Mendes looking at potential destinations for the central defender.
That report, and the aforementioned suggestion that the club are looking to move players on, marries up with Rai saying that the club are interested in Ruben Dias, however there would need to be a CB departure first. Perhaps it is a case of moving Asencio on to try and get Dias. Let's see.
