In an interview with El Chiringuito, Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho spoke about the impression Kylian Mbappe left on him after the preseason match against Schalke 04, in which the Frenchman scored.
Real Madrid wrapped up the preseason with two matches in which the team played exceptionally well. With two victories, one over Deportivo La Coruna and another over Schalke 04, the coach, Jose Mourinho, did not hesitate to comment that "Here we only have good players, very good players and very very very good players." Clearly, one of the players he includes in this last section is Kylian Mbappe.
During his interview with El Chiringuito, the Portuguese coach said: "Mbappe is incredible. He makes me laugh sometimes in training because he is too good; he is at a stratospheric level. I think about everything Kylian can be now. A guy who could have come on Aug. 14 and showed up on the 12 already tells me something.
The reason he wants to show up on the 12 is that he wants to play against Schalke in minimum conditions, with the same commitment to train like everyone else and with the same willingness to improve in difficult trainings, because it is not easy to arrive and get into the rhythm of the others, who train more fluently."
This could explain why Mbappe was the only newcomer to start the match. While Jude Bellingham, Marc Cucurella, and Yan Diomande had to start the match from the bench. Despite playing only the first 45 minutes, he performed excellently, scoring the first goal for the Merengues and standing out (as always) in his offensive duties.
Just one month after winning the Golden Boot at the World Cup, the Frenchman is once again shaping up to be the most powerful weapon in the attack of the white team. With partners as great as Vinicius on the left, Diomande on the right, and Bellingham behind (in a hypothetical 4-3-3 formation), they would be a force very difficult to stop, but, as was also seen with the France national team at the World Cup, so many men in attack do not ensure championships.
This is where Mourinho comes in, with his tactical ability to get the most out of his entire arsenal.
