Real Madrid has renewed interest in Manchester City's Tijjani Reijnders, who could leave the Premier League club this summer, according to reports.

The summer transfer window is approaching, and Real Madrid is not wasting time analyzing its best options, and among them now is Tijjani Reijnders.

Reijnders is a 27-year-old Dutch footballer who plays as a midfielder for Manchester City, a team from which he is rumored to possibly leave this summer after one year of arriving at the club.

The young Dutchman was already on the radar of Los Blancos since last summer when the club needed a pure midfielder, but in the end, it did not materialize. According to Defensa Central, the interest has returned.

Currently, in the 2025/26 season, Tijjani Reijnders has played 48 matches, scoring 7 goals and providing 7 assists for the Premier League club. Since the midfielder has gone from starter to substitute, in England, they believe he will leave the club very soon.

Real Madrid, for the moment, is searching for a player with skills similar to those of the void left by both Luka Modric and Toni Kroos, so, thanks to his technique and vision of the game, Reijnders fits perfectly into the profile they are seeking.

But Reijnders is not the only one at the discussion table. The club has also been exploring the market, analyzing other players. Both Pedri and Vitinha have also been mentioned in conversations, but neither is for sale, as they are key players for their respective teams.

Kees Smit, 20, a midfielder for AZ Alkmaar, is also one of them. In fact, several media outlets already consider him likely to end up at the white club.

According to reports, the club that owns his rights knows that it will not be able to retain Smit for much longer, which puts him on a silver platter if he is requested.

Either way, Real Madrid needs to make decisions to finally straighten out or stabilize the team, which has not lived up to expectations.

If the rumors are true, the club should hurry with Reijnders, because, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, the player could be a reinforcement Juventus wants in the midfield, but they would first need to find an economic solution.
