Two modern day Real Madrid greats have officially been added to the upcoming FC27 (formerly known as FIFA) game as two of the newly released icons.
Last week, the ratings of the best Real Madrid players - alongside the highest rated players on the game - were confirmed for the upcoming FC26 (formerly known as FIFA) game, which will be released in around a month’s time from now.
Forward Kylian Mbappe is the joint highest rated player on the game, alongside Erling Haaland of Manchester City, with a 91 rating. Then at 90 comes Jude Bellingham and Thibaut Courtois, with Vinicius 89 rated.
However, it is not just the ratings of current players that have been recently confirmed. Indeed not, as the icons on the game and their ratings for FC27 have also been announced in the past few days or so.
There are already a number of icons on the game who played for Real Madrid. The likes of Fernando Hierro, Roberto Carlos, Iker Casillas, Raul, Hugo Sanchez, Toni Kroos and so on. Then some others who were perhaps known a little more for their time at other clubs, such as David Beckham and Ronaldo Nazario.
Well, there have been two more icons - who certainly fit the former description - that have been added to the game for FC27. Indeed so, as former Real Madrid central defenders, Raphael Varane and Pepe are part of the new icons that have been added to the game for this new iteration.
The two played together between 2011 and 2017, winning two UEFA Champions League titles together. Both players spent 10 years at the Bernabeu - Pepe between 2007 and 2017, and Varane between 2011 and 2021. They were very successful spells for each player, both individually and certainly collectively.
Due to injuries, Varane’s time post Real Madrid was tough, retiring at just 31, but he did help Manchester United win the FA Cup and Carabao Cup during his three year stint in the North West of England.
Meanwhile, after 18 months in Turkey at Besiktas after leaving the Spanish capital, Pepe spent five and a half years at Portuguese giants Porto, with the final game of his career being a Euros quarter-final against France in 2024, keeping a clean sheet at 41 years of age. Pretty incredible when you truly think about it.
As for their ratings - Varane has a base rating of 90, and base stats of; 82 pace, 51 shooting, 68 passing, 76 dribbling, 90 defending and 84 physicality.
Then, for Pepe, he has a base rating of 89, and base stats of; 80 pace, 50 shooting, 65 passing, 68 dribbling, 89 defending, and 87 physicality.
