Valencia's Javier Aguirre Previews Real Madrid Clash at Mestalla

This Saturday, Valencia vs. Real Madrid will take place at Mestalla. A duel of utmost importance for both teams, although for opposite reasons. Jose Mourinho's team must take the three points if it wants to get closer to the lead. Javier Aguirre's side needs to take the victory to try to get out of the relegation zone, since it is currently in next-to-last place in the standings with 9 points.

Javier Aguirre took advantage of the press conference prior to Saturday's match to talk about the merengue team's strengths, since they come off seven consecutive victories in all competitions. First, he was questioned about how he would mark Kylian Mbappe. "I am not going to discover him now. He has an indefensible one-on-one. But we are eleven; we will try to make sure Mbappe is not comfortable, nor is anyone. I am not saying anything that no one in this room does not know."

Later, he was asked how a team as powerful as Real Madrid can be beaten. "By playing a perfect match, that is the correct answer, and that implies a huge amount of things," he said. Next, he was asked his opinion on Mourinho's statements, since he said he was "afraid" of the match against Valencia, both because of Aguirre's own experience and because they are rested.

"Jose is very sincere. He says what he feels. They are indeed more tired. He is sincere from top to bottom. It is valuable that someone tells you things as they are. You do not want us to hide information from you. The match is not played by him or by me. We will see how things are. It is a team we can compete with, of course," Aguirre said.

Finally, the Mexican coach received a somewhat long and, to a certain point, compromising question, which was: "You do not talk about the referees, but Mourinho does; what do you think about the fact that after complaining in the match against Atletico, he has strung together seven consecutive victories?" To which Aguirre could only turn to the other journalists with a look of disbelief and respond: "I am not going to answer that, son. Ask something else, take advantage."

Everything points to the fact that, with the ingredients there for this match, it will be an electrifying clash between two teams living in opposite but equally serious situations. The pursuit of the lead against getting out of the relegation zone. Two quite experienced coaches and a stadium that will be packed to support their teams.
