Real Madrid's Marc Cucurella teased what looked like an epic video, but it turned out to be a minimal "change" of look that left fans scratching their heads.
Marc Cucurella surprised his followers online after posting a video with his barber in which he changes his look. Many people thought it would be something more extreme, or that he would return to the braids he had during his vacation, but unfortunately for those who hate the afro, it was just a small change from the typical look we know as "Cucu."
Let us remember that the current Real Madrid fullback has always been a fan of betting on important tournaments, at least national team ones. Betting that he would dye his hair red if they were crowned champions of Euro 2024, something that finally did happen, since Spain defeated England 2-1. He had to fulfil it that summer, resulting in several photographs of him on the beach with reddish hair.
For the 2026 World Cup, he didn't bet on anything related to his hair, since his wife had previously threatened that if he cut his curls, he wouldn't sleep in the house. The player took this seriously and preferred to get braids in late July as a celebration, in addition to tattooing the face of Spain coach Luis de la Fuente on his biceps.
Furthermore, the footballer himself has explained that his eldest son, Mateo, was diagnosed with autism, and thanks to his curls, he can quickly identify him during matches, turning his hair into something sacred because it is a connection between Cucurella and his son. This makes it clear that, because of this, he will never (or at least, in the near future) get rid of his mane.
Now, at this new stage in his career, the Spanish fullback, who has already spent more than 5 years in England (Brighton and Chelsea), returns to Spain to seek ultimate glory at the club level with Real Madrid. Being able to win the Spanish league and the Champions League would be the main objectives of 'Cucu' at the merengue club and, in this way, add to his personal trophy cabinet the most important trophies in the world.
However, it is not simple either, since the team comes off a season in which they could not win any title, and his role is critical. It is well known that Real Madrid's most vulnerable area last season was the defence; his arrival was meant to reinforce it and help the team aspire to major titles, so a quick adaptation to José Mourinho's game plan will be crucial.
