Real Madrid yet to reach an agreement with RB Leipzig and Yan Diomande's entourage to make his transfer, as PSG stay on the hunt.
After a day of reports circling on social media claiming an agreement between Real Madrid and RB Leipzig for the transfer of Yan Diomande, Sky Sports DE journalist Florian Plettenburg cleared the confusion.
According to an update by Florian Plettenberg, there has been no agreement in place between Real Madrid and RB Leipzig for Yan Diomande till now. The clubs remain locked in negotiations, as Los Blancos have a clear chance to get the deal done over competitors PSG.
It was also reported that Real Madrid are yet to agree on personal terms with the Ivorian international's entourage. "All parties involved have confirmed this: RB Leipzig, Real Madrid and the player’s camp. Reports claiming otherwise are simply incorrect," said Plettenburg.
Los Merengues head coach Jose Mourinho has internally outlined a plan to integrate Diomande into his team for the upcoming season without jeopardising any key positions. However, rumours are circulating of an imminent Arsenal approach for Vinicius Jr., who has stalled his contract talks for months now, seeking a higher salary, as per an update by David Ornstein (covered by Roundtable).
It was confirmed that Real Madrid do not have representatives in Leipzig as of now, but talks are underway. Both sides are patient, and the Spanish giants are confident of accepting Diomande's salary demands, after they reach an agreement on transfer fees with his German club.
Real Madrid hijacked PSG's deal for the 19-year-old. The French capital side even had an understanding with the player, and they needed to sort out the transfer fee with Die Roten Bullen. There was a delay on Diomande's part regarding an unresolved image rights dispute with his former agency, and this dealt Paris Saint-Germain a major transfer blow.
The 15-time European champions are expected to send a bid worth 120 million euros, including bonuses, via email soon to appease RB Leipzig's demand. This same figure was conveyed to PSG, and their head coach, Luis Enrique, slowed down negotiations since he believed it was a bit expensive. However, they are still not out of the race.
