Vinicius Jr. has no intention of leaving Real Madrid, despite reports linking him to Saudi Arabia, MLS, or even PSG.
The Brazilian only thinks about the Spanish capital club and his contract extension, and he reaffirmed this during the international break with statements about Antoine Griezmann's move to MLS at the end of the current season. Asked about the possibility of leaving the Estadio Bernabeu, the winger was emphatic.
"Griezmann is a great player; he has had a great career in Spain, with the French national team as well. I really like everything he has done in his career. I think he will contribute a lot to MLS. But I only think about Real Madrid and being there for a long time," Vinicius explained.
Vinicius also spoke about the upcoming World Cup and Brazil's role, as well as, of course, his own: "I don't pay much attention to what people say. I know my work and my dedication to the World Cup; it is where all players want to be. As for my current form, I always try to give my best, scoring goals and providing assists. I am living my best moment. Everything I do at Real Madrid, I hope I can also do here with the national team," he said.
The Brazilian star referred to the friendly that will pit Brazil against France, in which he will face Mbappe as an opponent: "This match will be very important for us. They are a great team, and my Real Madrid teammates are too. It will be a very open match. No one will want to defend. It will be a good test for us. As for the support from our fans, it is always important for us. When we are united, we can achieve great things," he commented.
Looking ahead to the World Cup, Vinicius believes Brazil can be a dark horse: "I think we are not the favorites, if we look at recent results. But the weight of the shirt, the weight of the players we have here... we just need to come together, and after Ancelotti's arrival, we have a better idea of how to play. It takes a lot of pressure off us. We will do everything possible to help Brazil return to the top. We don't want to be favorites, we want Brazil to be at the top."
"I imagine everyone wants me to be one of the protagonists. I am prepared for all the challenges of my career. I have already played in one World Cup, and I don't want to lose again. I have been working hard at home, and I don't want to get injured. There are Raphinha and Joao Pedro. The young players who are arriving are Endrick and Estevao. We are all ready. We can also decide a match with a set piece play. That is how you win a World Cup," he argued.
The big question is whether they can achieve it without Neymar, a decision that lies with Ancelotti: "In recent seasons, I was one of the best, Raphinha too. Casemiro has a lot of experience. The pressure on Neymar is normal. I am not impartial; Ney is one of my idols. He is doing everything possible to be at 100 percent, to return to the national team. Now, the decision is in the coach's hands, but we, the players, always want to play with the best," he concluded.
