Warren Zaïre-Emery and Nuno Mendes are two PSG players who could cause problems for Bayern Munich in the Champions League semifinal return leg. Here's why.

PSG visits Bayern Munich this Wednesday, May 6, at the Allianz Arena, for the return leg of the UEFA Champions League semifinals. There are two players in particular that the Bavarians should beware of.

Head coach Luis Enrique will be forced to make one or two changes to his starting lineup, due to the injury suffered by right-back Achraf Hakimi in the first leg, which ended in a 5-4 victory for the Parisians.

The Moroccan will be out for a few weeks after suffering that thigh injury. Although it seems like an advantage on paper, this will create two scenarios that could ultimately hurt the Germans. Specifically, we will talk about two players that Bayern should be wary of.

2 PSG Players Who Could Cause Problems for Bayern Munich

1. Warren Zaïre-Emery

The logical option to replace Hakimi, 27, at right-back is Warren Zaïre-Emery. The Frenchman was responsible for covering for the Moroccan when he was absent for the Africa Cup of Nations. And truth be told, he did not disappoint.

Zaïre-Emery, 20, does not offer the same as Hakimi. That is clear. However, he is more efficient in one-on-one duels. It is very likely that Bayern's wingers will face a greater defensive challenge when they are up against Warren than they would with Hakimi.

According to DataMB, while Zaïre-Emery has an effectiveness rate of 58.2% in duels, Hakimi stands at 47.4%. Warren is a strong, fast player with vision. He is not a disadvantage for PSG.

2. Nuno Mendes

Left-back Nuno Mendes fell short in the first leg against the Germans. However, with Hakimi's injury and the repositioning of Zaïre-Emery as a full-back, it is very likely that Mendes, 23, will be the full-back with the greatest offensive intent in the return leg.

Typically, PSG adopts a back three if the match context requires it. Vitinha, Joao Neves, Zaïre-Emery, or Mendes can drop into the space between the center-backs so that Hakimi can break into the attack. For the return leg, it is expected that Warren will stay back when necessary, allowing the Portuguese left-back to attack and take advantage of his power and speed.

This season in the Champions League, Mendes has two goals, two assists, seven big chances created, and 1.5 key passes per game, according to SofaScore. In the first leg, the Portuguese tried to defend, an area in which he is not weak, but in which he was still overcome. However, in the return leg, he will surely attack, and he can do a lot of damage.
