Premier League clubs Aston Villa and Chelsea are reportedly eyeing PSG's rising winger.
Already mentioned during the last winter transfer window, Premier League interest in Ibrahim Mbaye is confirmed on Tuesday by Sky Sports, as the young Franco-Senegalese winger has been playing less at PSG in recent weeks.
Crowned African champion this winter with Senegal, Ibrahim Mbaye was certainly expecting something else upon returning to PSG, where he has been playing quite little in recent weeks, due to unconvincing substitute appearances, even if he did have 14 interesting minutes at Nice last Saturday.
Ibrahim Mbaye joined the Senegalese national team at the start of this week with two friendly matches to play, the first against Peru on Saturday at the Stade de France (5 p.m.), the second against Gambia on March 31 at the Abdoulaye Wade Stadium in Diamniadio, Senegal.
Under contract with PSG until June 2028, Ibrahim Mbaye is making headlines again in England after already being reported this winter as a target for several Premier League clubs (Chelsea and Aston Villa among others) by the German version of Sky Sports, as well as The Athletic.
On Tuesday, the English-language version of Sky Sports confirms interest from Aston Villa and several Premier League clubs in the young Parisian winger, 18, "who is considering joining a club where he could be a regular starter," according to the cited media outlet.
This source adds that Unai Emery's team will face competition in this matter and would do well to qualify for the next Champions League to convince Mbaye (Aston Villa is fourth in the Premier League at the moment and is virtually qualified for the next Champions League).
But PSG must also be convinced to let go of an 18-year-old player who has played 25 matches with Luis Enrique's first team this season. In late January, German Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg assured that PSG did not want to hear about a departure for Mbaye and might even offer him a new contract.
