Barcelona, PSG and Arsenal are competing for Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez, valued at $130M, according to reports.

Increasingly impressive with Atletico Madrid, Julian Alvarez is making all of Europe dream. PSG is among the main contenders in this case. It remains to be seen whether the Argentine player and his club can be convinced. That is far from guaranteed.

Alvarez, 26, will be one of the main actors in the 2026 summer transfer window. The Argentine forward, who scored against Arsenal on Wednesday in the Champions League, is already being targeted by several European powerhouses.

A transfer is all the more conceivable as it is desired by the 26-year-old player himself. The uncertainty, however, remains about his future destination. FC Barcelona is the favorite, but other clubs are in the mix, like Arsenal and Chelsea in England. The site TeamTalk mentions these three teams, as well as Paris Saint-Germain.

Alvarez's profile is perfectly adapted to Luis Enrique's requirements. The Argentine is a very effective No. 9 in front of the opponent's goal, but he also knows how to participate in his team's collective play.

He demonstrated this successfully at Manchester City under Pep Guardiola, and it was again the case on Wednesday night against Arsenal in the Champions League, with a complete performance and a goal.

PSG's ambition in this case surprises some observers because this transfer is anything but easy to pull off. Alvarez rather dreams of joining Barcelona at this stage.

On Atletico's side, they are firm with PSG or with the other interested clubs. "Julian is an Atletico Madrid player.

He is today, he will be tomorrow, and next season. Insisting on this subject seems really stupid to me," said the Madrid club's president, Enrique Cerezo, before the match against Arsenal on Wednesday. Behind the scenes, the Colchoneros will agree to sell their gem but not for less than $130 million.

A sum that condemns Barcelona on paper, unless there is a significant player exchange between the two Spanish rivals. Paris has the capacity to pay this sum, even though Parisian executives have not exceeded $109 million for a single player for a long time.

There should be no hesitation on the subject because Arsenal is already ready to pull the trigger. In addition, Alvarez could further increase his value as the season ends and the 2026 World Cup approaches in the United States.
