Spanish football reacts as Dro Fernandez's controversial Barcelona departure to PSG sparks debate over player ambition and club strategy.

It is a transfer that has been widely discussed. Paris Saint-Germain concluded only one signing this winter, that of Dro Fernandez, and in Spain, they still struggle to understand this decision to leave Barcelona at only 18.

PSG concluded only one transfer this winter, but it has generated a lot of ink in Spain. And for good reason, the capital club secured the signing of Dro Fernandez from Barcelona for approximately €8.2 million.

And at Barca, they still do not understand the reasons that led the 18-year-old star to choose PSG. Visibly very affected by his former player's decision, Hansi Flick had expressed his disappointment a few days ago.

Dro Fernandez Faces Fresh Criticism in Spain Over Barcelona-to-PSG Move

"I have changed my mind. I don't want to say anything about it. I love Dro, but I am obviously disappointed. He knows it too, but I love him. He would have had a great future here. He made another decision, which I have to respect, that's football."

And former Barcelona player Oscar Garcia seems to perfectly understand Hansi Flick's disappointment. "In these kinds of decisions, many factors come into play. Does the family need this contract to ensure their livelihood? Does he consider himself here (at Barcelona, ed.) as a fifth or sixth option, whereas in Paris, he might be the third?" he wonders in an interview granted to SPORT, before continuing.

'I Understand Hansi Flick's Disappointment'

"He integrated directly into the first team, skipping two categories, from the Juvenil B. That means the coach trusts him much more than any other player, and I understand Flick's disappointment (...) I would always advise players not to leave Barca," adds Oscar Garcia.

In other words, the transfer of Dro Fernandez has not finished making headlines in Spain.
