On a complete and utterly dominant UEFA Champions League night at the Parc Des Princes, as many as five PSG players have been named in the Team of the Week

On Wednesday evening, PSG comfortably beat English Premier League Champions Liverpool 2-0 at the Parc Des Princes in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final clash.

It was a completely dominant performance from start to finish. The visitors only had three shots of any note all game, and none in the first half. The only regret for Luis Enrique's side is that the tie is not completely over when it really should be.

Nevertheless, the team is in a very commanding position heading into the second leg on Merseyside next week, particularly with no game in between the fixtures.

There were a number of top-class individual performances on the night, all over the park. Probably too many to single out. However, as many as five players were in SofaScore's Team of the Week for the quarter-final first leg ties.

Indeed, as Nuno Mendes, Marquinhos, Joao Neves, Vitinha, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia have all been named in the Team of the Week. The Georgian winger is the highest-rated player of the whole team, with a rating of 9.0. The others were rated 7.7, 7.5, 7.9, and 7.7 respectively

The team in general reads as (442); Neuer, Alexander-Arnold, Marquinhos, Saliba, Mendes; Yamal, Neves, Vitinha, Kvaratskhelia; Alvarez, Mbappe. So, some pretty good company to be in there.

To have essentially half the team as PSG players shows just how dominant the performance was. Interestingly, Enrique's side were the only home team from all four games to win their tie - with all three of the others losing, not even a draw in there.

All five players deserve there spot. The left side of Mendes and Kvaratskhelia is just so incredibly dynamic. The latter took his goal superbly well, rounding his compatriot in the Liverpool goal with unbelieavable composure to double the lead on the night.

Meanwhile, it is just impossible to press Vitinha and Neves. They are so good at keeping the ball. But they don't just play the safe pass. Indeed, as shown with the aforementioned second goal, with a fantastic pass from Neves to find PSG's number seven.

Perhaps the player that stood out least was Marquinhos, but a lot of that is because PSG were just so dominant. Plus, it is better when you don't notice a central defender (as much). It means they are doing their job with a minimum of fuss.

Any similar number of players in the team for the second leg, and we can safely assume that there will have been no hiccups at Anfield. Particularly with, as mentioned earlier, a weekends rest before the game, and full focus on finishing the job next week.
