Luis Enrique reflects on a historic year, Dembele's performance, and a well-deserved holiday break. Find out when PSG returns.

It was a happy Luis Enrique to have finished the year 2025 with a victory, but also happy to be done with it altogether, who appeared at the press conference this Saturday after Vendee Fontenay Foot vs. PSG (0-4).

The Parisian coach enjoyed the evening, notably Ousmane Dembele's playing time, and he set a date to meet again after a well-deserved vacation. Here are his complete remarks.

Can this evening be good for Ousmane Dembele, who made a decisive pass and then converted a penalty (he had missed one on Wednesday against Flamengo) and also received a nice ovation from the crowd at the end of the match?

"I think so. It is important to have minutes, and the players who are in this recovery process had, I think, a good match. Playing 60 minutes is important."

Did you appreciate the seriousness of your players for this event?

"It is good to play in the Cup, in a stadium with this atmosphere. It was a celebration, and we played seriously. It is difficult when you play against a team of a very different level. There was a big difference, but I think we prepared the match well and the players played very well."

This is the last match of the year 2025, perhaps the time for a review, even though the season is not over. What word would you use to define the year 2025?

"It is historic for the club. Normally, reviews wait for the end of the season, since we are in the 2025/2026 season. This cannot be the time for a review, but if we think only about the calendar year (Editor's note: as an anecdote, he says 'natural') of 2025, it is clear that it is historic for the club, for the Parisians. We are happy. But we are also happy for the Christmas holidays. It is good for us to have this recovery time. But after the holidays, we will be happy to return and think about what remains of the season."

Can we know the schedule, when will you resume training? Is there a date?

"Yes! I remember. (The journalist says to him, 'Will you send me a little message?' and Luis Enrique replies) I think we will return on the 4th (of January), we arrive for the Paris FC match (PSG vs. Paris FC will be played on Jan. 4)! I'm joking."

Does having won a sextuple this year change the dimension of PSG a bit? Is PSG today the equal of a Barcelona, a Bayern, that type of club?

"(Luis Enrique cuts him off) For who? For us? For the opponents? For who?"

In the way PSG is perceived, rather for the others.

"For the others, you must ask the others. (And for you?) For me, it changes nothing. We are happy, we did the job, but making history in Paris means a lot to us, for the players, for the team. And we seek to win many more trophies. I think we have shown that it is not a matter of chance; it has been a very good job, and we hope to continue having the possibility of winning trophies."

The press attache asks if there is a final question, and Luis Enrique cuts in laughing, "Bravo, it's over! Good vacation! Happy holidays!"
