Young goalkeeper Bilal Laurendon departs PSG for Azerbaijan to seek new challenges. Discover where this promising talent is headed next.

At the club since 2019, young PSG goalkeeper Bilal Laurendon, 20, should leave the club this summer, heading to Azerbaijan.

A young goalkeeper should leave PSG this summer. At the end of his aspirant contract on June 30, 2026, the young Franco-Moroccan goalkeeper Bilal Laurendon (20, born in 2006, like Renato Marin) should play next season in Azerbaijan, according to information from L'Equipe.

Never having appeared in PSG's first team so far, but notably called up against Nantes in December 2023, Laurendon should join the Sabah Football Club this summer, currently first in the Azerbaijani championship after 22 rounds. A club where his agent has already placed several French players, including Aaron Malouda, the son of Florent Malouda.

Too old to play with PSG's U19s, Bilal Laurendon was on the bench with PSG's Reserve team this season in the Premier League International Cup, which was last January against Nottingham Forest. But it was Arthur Vignaud (born in 2008) who played that match; he has an offer of a first professional contract from the club, just like Martin James, also born in 2008, who appeared 10 times in the pro squad this season.

Among PSG's goalkeepers, the summer could be eventful since Lucas Chevalier lost his place after being recruited for more than 40 million euros last summer. The former LOSC goalkeeper saw Matvey Safonov pass him in front since the end of December, and it's hard to see how the French international could reverse the trend, barring injury to the Russian goalkeeper.

The status of PSG goalkeepers' contracts:

  • Lucas Chevalier: June 30, 2030
  • Renato Marin: June 30, 2030
  • Matvey Safonov: June 30, 2029
  • Martin James: June 30, 2026
  • Arthur Vignaud: June 30, 2026
  • Bryan Francillonne: June 30, 2026
  • Bilal Laurendon: June 30, 2026
