PSG eyes Julian Alvarez and four others for a squad overhaul, aiming to secure key signings this summer to bolster their European aspirations.
PSG is actively preparing for its next transfer window. Very inactive last summer, the reigning European champion clearly shows the desire to strengthen its squad with at least five hoped-for recruits.
Last summer, Paris Saint-Germain's transfer window made headlines. The French capital club, coming off its first Champions League title, made the deliberate choice to barely touch its squad.
Illya Zabarnyi and Lucas Chevalier, who are still not starters nearly a year after their arrival, were the only summer signings. A choice to remain inactive that could ultimately prove worthwhile, with Paris still in contention for a "back-to-back" with a second consecutive Champions League.
Nevertheless, it is important for manager Luis Enrique and sports advisor Luis Campos to regenerate the squad, which is why the next summer transfer window will be much busier.
According to PSG Inside Actus, the club is hoping for at least five recruits: a central defender, a midfielder, one or two offensive players, and perhaps even a goalkeeper, in the event of Chevalier's departure.
The specialized source specifies that, in central defense, the Parisian leadership's two priority targets are known to be Karim Coulibaly (Werder Bremen) and Joel Ordonez (Brugge).
The two cases are nonetheless complex because PSG's two targets are being tracked in the Premier League, and bidding could quickly rise. As a Plan B, PSG is monitoring Ngoy (Lille), Oosterwolde (Fenerbahce), and Antonio Silva (Benfica).
In midfield, uncertainty reigns over the profiles Paris Saint-Germain is targeting. At this stage, only the names of Manu Kone (Roma) and Carlos Baleba (Brighton) have filtered through. But Luis Campos is tracking many other players, whose names have simply not yet been revealed in the press.
Finally, the offensive project is also full of uncertainties. Barring a major surprise, Goncalo Ramos will leave PSG, three years after arriving at the club. The Portuguese enjoys life in Paris but aspires to play more, and his fate is therefore practically sealed.
To replace him, Paris dreams of Julian Alvarez, but the path to the Argentine striker at Atletico Madrid will be very expensive. On the wings, the names of Rodrigo Mora (Porto), Yan Diomande (Leipzig), and Morgan Rogers (Aston Villa) have been checked off by PSG's leadership, which is therefore working to strengthen in all areas of play. It is impossible, however, to know for now who the lucky chosen ones will be to join the Parisian club next summer.
