Danny Murphy says Liverpool must sign Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to replace Mohamed Salah. Calls PSG star 'probably the best right-sided player in the world.'
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia made a very strong impression with PSG in the Champions League first leg against Bayern Munich. Enough to give ideas to Liverpool's management to replace Mohamed Salah.
Since joining Paris Saint-Germain in the winter 2025 transfer window, Kvaratskhelia, 25, has shown he is capable of great things.
One could even think that without the arrival of the Georgian international, PSG probably would not have gone all the way in the Champions League last season. And everything indicates that Kvaratskhelia will play a major role in the fabulous back-to-back still achievable for head coach Luis Enrique's team.
Author of a brace against Bayern Munich, the former Napoli player is capable of blowing up any defense. Naturally, as Salah, 33, is about to leave Liverpool, the Reds reportedly dream of signing Kvaratskhelia.
Former Liverpool player Danny Murphy believes that the Georgian player is the only one capable of making people forget the legendary Egyptian international.
For the ex-Liverpool midfielder, the Reds' board must assess whether PSG is open to discussions and whether the Georgian winger is tempted by the Premier League.
"When you are Liverpool Football Club, one of the biggest clubs in the world, you have to go after the best players. Kvaratskhelia is probably the best player playing on the right side of world soccer right now. Could they convince him to come? Maybe not, but we have seen many times that the best players want to play in the world's best league and at one of the biggest clubs. I would try to recruit someone like him. Maybe he won't score as many goals as Salah, but you also know that he will not fail. He is that good, really," Danny Murphy told AceOdds.
Under contract with PSG until 2029 and earning an annual salary of $12 million, Kvaratskhelia is probably in no rush to leave the capital club, where he is living the best sporting period of his life.
To the point that, if he were not absent from the World Cup, Georgia having not qualified, the PSG player would be a serious candidate for the Ballon d'Or. And regarding Paris's intentions, it is obvious that Enrique will not accept his player leaving for Liverpool or anywhere else.
