Ahead of the mouth watering UEFA Champiosn League clash between defending champions PSG and FC Barcelona, the visitors could be set to make a huge decision through adversity.
On Tuesday evening, two time defending Champions PSG will welcome La Liga winners FC Barcelona to the Parc Des Princes, for what is surely the most anticipated game in the league phase section of this season's UEFA Champions League campaign.
There are a lot of people very excited for this game, not just the fans of each club, but also neutrals, who see these two teams as perhaps the best two sides on the eye in world football, with Bayern Munich perhaps right up there with them.
However, despite all of that excitement, neither team will be at full strength for the game, which is always a shame, especially for the neutral. We know that left back Nuno Mendes will miss the game for PSG, having picked up a thigh injury late on in the win over RC Strasbourg in Ligue 1 at the weekend.
Meanwhile, Barcelona have defensive worries of their own, with Jules Kounde and Eric Garcia reported to be out for the game, and fellow defender Gerard Martin now a doubt, all whilst Andreas Christen has been missing since before the extended international break.
Should we see Martin also miss the game, as certainly looks possible, then manager Hansi Flick will be left with just one recognised central defender for the game in Spain international Pau Cubarsi.
Now, as we know, Barcelona's La Masia is one of the very best academies in world football - if not the best - so you never know, they could have someone there ready and waiting. It would be a big game to come in for though, so perhaps Flick will look for solutions in the first team squad.
Well, according to a report from Mundo Deportivo, one of the potential solutions is to play former Ballon d'Or winner Rodri - nominally a defensive midfielder - at centre back next to Cubarsi.
Do you know what would make this poetic? It would not be the first time that the 30-year old has played as a centre back. Indeed not, as he played there for Spain during the 2022 World Cup, whilst playing for no other than... Luis Enrique.

Small world, eh. Would be very interesting to see how he does there, if that is what Flick decides to do. You would imagine with Rodri's pace, or lack there of, that there will most certainly be chances in behind for the Parsiaisn in this one. But let's wait and see.
