PSG won the Champions League for the second season running as they defeated Arsenal on penalties as we bring to you the player ratings from tonight's game.

PSG defeated Arsenal in a tightly contested Champions League final at the Puskas Arena in Budapest, winning it for the second season running 4-3 on penalties as the Gunners missed twice from the spot during the tie-breaker.

The Gunners opened the scoring in the fifth minute of the game, courtesy of Kai Havertz's powerful finish over the head of Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Matvey Safonov.

The defending champions dominated the game in terms of position, but the dangerous trio of Ousmane Dembele, Desire Doue, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia looked to be helpless in front of the solid defensive lineup of the North London side.

Despite heading into the break while being a goal down, the Parisians piled up the pressure on the likes of Gabriel Magalhaes and Cristhian Mosquera from the word go following the start of the second half, as the Gunners finally succumbed to the pressure giving away a penalty just after the hour mark, and Dembele was never in doubt about putting it into the back of the net from the spot.

Extra time wasn't enough to decide the final as the game went on to the penalties, and it was the Parisians who prevailed in one of the most nerve-racking events in soccer.

PSG vs Arsenal: Player Ratings

Matvey Safonov- 4: Apart from the goal which PSG conceded and a brave diving punch to the ball, Safonov didn't have much to do throughout the game, as the two penalties which Arsenal missed were not on target.

Achraf Hakimi - 5: The Moroccan international had a pretty mediocre game in terms of impact, as he certainly made those runs along the right wing, but Hakimi's dangerous deliveries into the box never came throughout the game. He brilliantly scored from the spot kick during the penalty shootout.

Marquinhos - 4: The veteran center-back certainly controlled his defensive line with command, although his faulty clearance ultimately led to Arsenal's only goal of the night.

Willian Pacho - 5: Just like his captain, Pacho certainly had nothing much to do as the Gunners were back defending through most parts of the game, but he was influential in keeping Arsenal's attacks at bay.

Nuno Mendes - 6: The Portuguese left-back did his job pretty well throughout the 120 minutes plus added time of the game, holding off a dangerous Bukayo Saka and also running up and down the left flank, certainly a tiring job to do, which Mendes did quite brilliantly.

Vitinha - 6: The central midfielder controlled the tempo of the game quite well until he was taken off during extra time, but in terms of impact, Vitinha didn't have much to do.

Fabian Ruiz - 5: The Spanish midfielder, along with his partners in the middle of the park, had the ball on his feet quite often but wasn't able to produce one of those magical moments in tonight's final.

Joao Neves - 6: Neves certainly contributed very little in terms of attack, but the Portuguese international made sure that the Gunners weren't able to get a hold of the game tonight.

Desire Doue - 6: The flamboyant Frenchman wasn't able to penetrate the rock-solid defense of the runners-up, but there is no doubt regarding Doue's commitment during the final, as he kept on pushing till the end and was certainly calm while scoring his penalty during the tie-breaker.

Ousmane Dembele - 7: Just like his other attacking compatriots, Dembele looked quite pale, but he was cool as a cucumber while putting away the penalty in the 65th minute of the game past David Raya.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia - 7: Despite failing to penetrate the Arsenal defense, the Georgian international made sure to put his body in front of Mosquera to make sure that there was enough contact for the referee to award PSG the spot kick, which Dembele equalized from.
