On Monday afternoon (the 2nd of November, 2026) it was officially confirmed by FIFPro that four different PSG players have been nominated for the men's World XI for the year of 2026.

Needless to say, 2026 has been another very successful year for PSG and everyone associated with the club.

Although there was a shock early defeat in the Coupe de France, the team were able to successfully defend both their Ligue 1 and UEFA Champions League titles, doing so in style. It has also been a very positive start to this season on those fronts, with the team top of both Ligue 1 and the league phase.

As a result of these efforts, four PSG players have been nominated by FIFPro for a potential place in their men's World 11 of the year 2026. Indeed so, with Nuno Mendes, Achraf Hakimi, Vitinha and Khvicha Kvararskhelia.

It is in particular great to see the latter nominated. In a World Cup year, so much stock is put into performances at the tournament, so it feels important to recognise someone like Kvaratskhelia who was exceptional at club level, and cannot help who he plays for at national team level.

In terms of the competition, Mendes and Hakimi join the following defenders as list of nominees; Pau Cubarsi (Barcelona, Spain), Marc Cucurella (Chelsea, Real Madrid, Spain), Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool, Netherlands), Gabriel (Arsenal, Brazil), William Saliba (Arsenal, France) and Dayot Upamecano (Bayern Munich, France).

Meanwhile, Vitinha is joined by fellow midfielders; Jude Bellingham, Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United, Portugal), Enzo Fernandez (Chelsea, Manchester City, Argentina), Pedri (Barcelona, Spain), and Declan Rice (Arsenal, England).

Finally- Erling Haaland (Manchester City, Norway), Harry Kane (Bayern, England), Kylian Mbappe (Real Madrid, France) Lionel Messi (Inter Miami, Argentina), Michael Olise (Bayern, France), and Lamine Yamal (Barcelona, Spain).

Truth be told, there are some players who may feel aggrieved. For example, defender Willian Pacho was a crucial part of the double winning PSG side, and helped Ecuador reach the knockout stages of the World Cup for the first time in 20 years.

Meanwhile, Joao Neves was very, very good in the midfield and was probably better than Vitinha at the World Cup. Fabian Ruiz is a World Cup winner as well as double winner, too. Albeit he did not play that many games last season.

Still, you cannot nominate every player, so fair is fair. If and when PSG players are part of the officially confirmed final XI, we will be sure to let you know. As always, stay tuned here at Roundtable for all the updates you need on all things PSG.
