PSG's Khvicha Kvaratskhelia captained Georgia in a 0-0 draw with Ukraine in the Nations League. Ukraine kept Illia Zabarnyi on the bench.

On Monday, two PSG players faced off in the Nations League. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia's Georgia drew against Illia Zabarnyi's Ukraine.

The first international break of the season is underway. On Monday, Georgia and Ukraine faced off in the second match of the Nations League group stage.

It could have been a clash of PSG players. While Khvicha Kvaratskhelia started and captained the Georgian side, Illia Zabarnyi didn't play and remained on the bench for the entire match.

After their victory against Hungary (1-0), Ukraine wanted to continue their momentum and extend their lead at the top of the group. For Georgia, who lost in the final seconds to Northern Ireland (1-0) and saw their coach, Willy Sagnol, dismissed, they were looking for a win to kick-start their campaign.

PSG's Khvicha Kvaratskhelia Created Chances In Vain

In a Georgia-dominated match, the two teams failed to break the deadlock, and the game ended in a goalless draw (0-0).

Georgia tried their luck through Giorgi Chakvetadze (21st minute) and PSG's number 7 (62nd and 88th minutes), but they couldn't find the net.

They will have to wait until their match against Hungary on Friday evening to try to secure their first victory during this international break and avoid falling too far behind in their group.

As for Ukraine, a tough match against Northern Ireland, currently second in the group, awaits them Friday evening, ahead of their game against Hungary tonight.

PSG to Face Manchester City and Barcelona in Crucial 6-Day Stretch

After the international break, PSG will play six matches over the next 20 days, including Champions League clashes with Manchester City and Barcelona.

PSG desperately needed to head off to international duty on a high note. After a difficult start to the season, the Parisians won Le Classique in Marseille (2-1) and now sit sixth in Ligue 1 with eight points.

But after the international break, Luis Enrique and his players won't have any more time to drop points.

Paris will return to competition on Saturday, October 10, with a home match against Le Mans. Surprisingly, this will be only the second Ligue 1 game played at the Parc des Princes this season. The first ended in a 1-2 defeat against Monaco on September 4.

Luis Enrique is expected to use this match to rest some of his international players. As he has regularly done after international breaks, the Parisian coach is likely to give Marquinhos and Willian Pacho, who have been on long trips with their national teams in South America, more time to recover.

Here's PSG's October schedule:

  • Le Mans - Ligue 1 (October 10, Parc des Princes)
  • Manchester City - Champions League (October 14, Etihad Stadium)
  • RC Strasbourg - Ligue 1 (October 17, La Meinau)
  • FC Barcelona - Champions League (October 20, Parc des Princes)
  • Olympique Lyonnais - Ligue 1 (October 25, Parc des Princes)
  • Le Havre - Ligue 1 (October 30, Stade Océane)
