Liverpool are intensifying their pursuit of RB Leipzig’s Ivorian sensation Yan Diomande, preparing a record-breaking offer to replace Mohamed Salah and hijack PSG's plans for the teenager.

Premier League side Liverpool prepare a new bid to overcome PSG in the race to sign RB Leipzig's Yan Diomande.

According to a report by Sky Sports via Foot Mercato, Liverpool's potential new offer for Die Roten Bullen forward Yan Diomande could well exceed the 100 million euros to bridge the gap to the German club's asking price of 130 million euros.

PSG have been keeping tabs on the player, monitoring the situation without making any bids to drive up the player's price in the transfer market. It could also be that the French capital side are not keen on securing the Ivorian star's services right now, although they are set to part ways with Lee Kang-In and Goncalo Ramos, two members of their attacking department, as per an earlier update by Foot01.fr on Roundtable.

Despite these latest developments, we cannot simply rule out the possibility of Paris Saint-Germain making a swoop for Diomande if The Reds from Merseyside slip up in their transfer interest. Liverpool already had their initial offer for the 19-year-old sensation rejected by RB Leipzig, which was close to the figure of 100 million euros, as they remained firm on their high valuation due to his young age and growth potential.

The six-time Champions League winners have rarely looked elsewhere apart from Diomande to fill the shoes of the departing club legend, Mohamed Salah, on the right wing. In their latest report, Sky Sports claims that the imminent second offer is set to raise tensions at the winger's current club, as it would prove the high level of importance the Premier League outfit are placing on the deal.

Leipzig, however, has made an internal decision for a long time now to keep Diomande at the club for at least another year to reap the benefits of his technical progress and achieve a piece of silverware, using his capabilities. They might be hoping for an offer from PSG in the coming days, waiting till Diomande's World Cup campaign with the Ivory Coast gets over. If Les Parisiens enter the race, Liverpool would be tempted to reach the 130 million-euro price tag, but any shortcomings would play right into PSG's hands.

As things stand, this transfer saga could go either way as Liverpool continue to actively lead negotiations, Leipzig hold on to their player to get a better deal and possibly prolong his stay at the club, and Paris Saint-Germain monitor the developments, searching for an opportunity to pounce.
