Matvey Safonov, PSG goalkeeper, says his teammate Ousmane Dembele is the best player he has ever known.

Some Paris Saint-Germain players remain busy with their national teams during the international break, and several others are in the headlines, including Ousmane Dembele, one of the favorite candidates to win the 2026 Ballon d'Or.

The forward does not tire of making headlines, especially this week after the scandal over the supposed rivalry between him and his former club teammate, Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe.

However, even after Ousmane dismissed these rumors as insignificant and far from reality, his name still resonates strongly among fans who want to see him win the Ballon d'Or.

And it is not only the fans but also several teammates with whom he shares a locker room, for example, the Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov.

On Wednesday, the PSG goalkeeper made a special appearance on the Russian YouTube channel VPISKA, which specializes in celebrity interviews, where he shared his feelings about Dembele.

When questioned about whether he believes Ousmane Dembele is the best player he has played with or seen in his entire life, the goalkeeper quickly answered with a resounding yes.

"Yes. They were moments with him that opened my eyes about football," Safonov commented.

The 27-year-old also explained that he has often been surprised by the decisions Dembele makes, and, in some way, they end up working without having to look to Matvey to see what He will do.

"He makes decisions I never expect, I don't think they're possible. He didn't need to look at me to know where I was. His technique lets him do things others don't even consider," concluded Safonov.

Although Paris Saint-Germain had a rather difficult start to the season in the first two matches of Ligue 1, they have already moved forward and sit in sixth place in the table after winning their last two matches.

Coach Luis Enrique has been heavily criticized for this disastrous start, especially since the Parisian club comes in after winning two Champions Leagues in a row, but for Matvey Safonov, the Spaniard remains the best coach he has had the chance to play under.

"I'm grateful that in year one I didn't just sit on the bench, and I stand by him being the best coach of my career because he showed a different approach and mentality."

For the Russian, the way Luis Enrique taught him that in a group full of professionals, everyone can do everything, was quite important.

Now, both Matvey Safonov and his teammate Ousmane Dembele remain busy during the international break, but upon their return, they will put in their best effort to climb the table and, if things go their way, beat their next opponent, Le Mans Football Club.
