With €90 million ready, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi targets Real Betis star Abde Ezzalzouli to replace the injured Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, despite Luis Enrique’s reported resistance to winter reinforcements.
According to a report by media outlet El Nacional, via TransferFeed, French club Paris Saint-Germain are closely monitoring the situation of Moroccan winger Abdessamad Ezzalzouli, a player currently playing in La Liga for Real Betis. The report also stated that PSG’s owner, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, has made available a budget of around €90 million for bringing an addition to the attacking line, and Ezzalzouli is one of the top targets.
Ezzalzouli, if he indeed arrives in Paris, will be playing as replacement for Georgian winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who suffered a serious injury to his knee that has sidelined him for months. This fact was also reported in an earlier news by journalist Ekrem Konur via TransferFeed. However, the signing does have a hurdle: manager Luis Enrique. The Spaniard, it is reported, is perfectly satisfied with the attacking options that he has at his disposal, and is not in favour of bringing in an attacking player during the upcoming January transfer window.
A graduate of the academy of Spanish side Hércules, the now 24-year-old winger has played 2 seasons for the senior squad of the team since his debut in 2019. During this period, he appeared in 25 league games for their reserve squad, and in 21 league games for the first team.
In 2021, Ezzalzouli was signed by FC Barcelona and was assigned to their reserve squad, for which he made 21 league appearances. The player also played 12 matches in La Liga for Barcelona before he left for Betis in 2023. He also spent the 2022-23 season on loan at Osasuna, where he was part of the squad that finished as runners-up in the 2022-23 Copa Del Rey.
Since joining Real Betis, Ezzalzouli has made 94 official league appearances for the side and scored 16 goals. He was part of the squad that finished as runners-up in the 2024-25 edition of the UEFA Europa Conference League.
In addition to his club career, Ezzalzouli has also made 40 appearances for the senior squad of the Morocco National Football Team, after coming through their youth system. The winger has scored 3 goals for Morocco and was part of the squad that registered victory in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
The winger, according to Transfermarkt, is currently valued at a price of €60 million. If the player indeed leaves Betis, PSG will most possibly be his preferred destination given the stature of the club. However, he will also have to keep in mind that getting playing time might prove to be a taxing affair, given the excellent attacking prowess that Luis Enrique already has at his disposal.
