As PSG prepare to face AS Monaco in Ligue 1 on Friday night, here are how the opposition and PSG themselves are looking heading into this huge game.

On Friday night, PSG will play their first game since the summer transfer window closed, when they welcome AS Monaco to the Parc Des Princes, for what is actually the first home game of the season, despite being the fifth outing overall.

So, what can we expect from the visitors, as well as PSG themselves?

In the summer, Monaco made the decision to appoint former Atletico Madrid left-back Filipe Luis as their new manager. Fans may remember his Flamengo side playing against PSG last December in the FIFA Intercontinental Cup, taking the tie all the way to a penalty shootout.

His time at the Brazilian outfit was hugely successful. In just 15 months he was able to win the Copa Libertadores (South American equivalent of the UEFA Champions League), the Brazilian Serie A, Copa do Brasil, Supercopa do Brasil, Campeonato Carioca, FIFA Challenger Cup and FIFA Derby of the Americas.

Despite this relatively small time in charge, due to how hectic the schedule in Brazil is, he still managed the team for 101 games, so he came into the job at Monaco with a decent amount of experience.

As for this job, well it has been so far so good for Luis, winning all of his first four games in charge, two in the league and two in the UEFA Conference League play-off. The most eye catching of the four wins would have been the 2-0 victory over Marseille last weekend.

The two goals were scored by striker Paris Brunner. The first was a lovely header, and the second came from him spinning his man, running down the channel, before checking back and leaving two defenders before calmly finishing. So, clearly he can do a bit of everything. The PSG defence will have to be very alert to that.

In terms of other dangermen, Lamine Camara could be in the heart of the midfield, after his proposed move to Premier League side Chelsea fell through. Some good news for Luis Enrique's side is that Ansu Fati - who was the team's second top score last season with 11 league goals - is set to miss the game through injury. The top scorer, Folarin Balogun (with 13), could be involved after he also had a deal fall through, with Everton.

Meanwhile, for the Parisians, this will certainly be no easy task. Nuno Mendes remains suspended, and despite that, Lucas Digne has not been called up for the game, so it will be very interesting to see who players there, perhaps Lucas Hernandez? Winger Maghnes Akliouche could feature against his former club.

Despite all of this, PSG are still the favourites with the bookmarkers, with Monaco priced up as long as 13/2 to win the game, giving them just over a 15% chance of winning. Let's see.
