After two PSG first team players picked up injuries in the Ligue 1 game away to RC Strasbourg on Saturday afternoon, the French media have provided the fans with an update on how things are going.

On Saturday afternoon, PSG picked up a very important three points in Ligue 1, as they defeated RC Strasbourg 3-1 on the road to put the pressure on league leaders AS Monaco.

Luis Enrique once again made a number of changes to the starting XI, certainly with one eye on Tuesday's clash with FC Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League. Marquinhos was given the day off, whilst Willian Pacho and Fabian Ruiz were unused subs. Other starters came off the bench, namely Ousmane Dembele - who missed a penalty, scored and assisted during his cameo. Lively to say the least.

So, plenty of rotation, players largely kept fresh, and three points against a decent side and a tough place to go. Perfect day at the office, right? Well, not quite, as it would transpire.

Indeed not, as there are a couple of injury concerns to be worried about. Firstly, Nuno Mendes - who had come on in the 53rd minute for Lucas Digne - had to be taken off in the 87th minute, after picking up an injury. All five subs had been used by then, so PSG had to play the remaining minutes with ten men, yet still did manage to add the game clinching third goal in that time.

Meanwhile, despite playing the full 90 minutes without being taken off, forward Maghnes Akliouche also picked up an injury, so that is one more potential headache for Enrique to have to contend with ahead of the midweek game.

This has lead to many PSG fans, instead of being happy with this big and impressive win away from home, being very concerned about the injuries, particularly regarding Mendes, who is seen as the key to keeping Lamine Yamal quiet, as he has done a number of times in the past, unlike many other left-backs.

Well, French journalist Arthur Perrot of RMC Sport has provided an update. He says that, whilst Mendes felt discomfort in his thigh, nobody at the club is worried about his fitness status.

As for Akliouche, Perrot says that the club will need to monitor his condition, after picking up an injury to his left ankle, and will underdo examinations on Saturday night. Perhaps this means we will know more on Sunday as a result.

Sounds very harsh, and it is not meant with any sort of bad will, but if you could have one of those two available on Tuesday, it would be the way round that the report looks to be implying. But, it would be great to have both - no doubt about that. Let's see.
