After yet another brilliant year for PSG with Ligue 1 and the UEFA Champions League successfully retained from the previous year, Luis Enrique has been recognised by winning Onze Mondial Manager of the Year

The year of 2026 has once again been an incredibly successful one for everyone associated with PSG.

Although the team did not quite win a second consecutive treble, after a shock defeat at home to next door neighbours Paris FC in the Coupe de France, both Ligue 1 and the UEFA Champions League were successfully retained, after fending off a strong Lens side and Arsenal on penalties in the final.

Not only were these trophies won, but there was some incredible, champagne football played along the way too, doing things in style. There was the incredible two legged Champions League semi final tie with Bayern Munich, in particular that incredible 5-4 win at the Parc Des Princes in the first leg.

There was also the 10-2 aggregate win over Premier League side Chelsea, righting the wrongs of the Club World Cup final from eight months earlier. A few people were put in their place during those two nights, that's for sure.

As a result, the gaffer, Luis Enrique - who has masterminded this incredible style of play, where PSG are so ball dominant but not in a stale way, but one with positional freedom and fluidity, not just for the attackers, but also the midfielders and defenders - has been recognised for his excellent efforts.

Indeed so, as the boss has been named the Onze Mondial Manager of the Year by a voting panel for the second year in a row.

For those perhaps unaware with their work, the awards go to the best managers and players in France, as well as the best French managers and players that are playing abroad. So, essentially, if you are French and/or currently play/manage in France, you are eligible for the awards. Former PSG forward Kylian Mbappe - now of Real Madrid - won the Player of the Year award.

Well, you have to say it is very well deserved. There are some other strong candidates, Pierre Sage did brilliantly to guide RC Lens to second place and the Coupe de France. But overall, you can't argue with Enrique continuing to make more and more history with the club. Let's hope for more of the same this season. It is certainly more than possible. Let's wait and see.

Once again, many congratulations to the gaffer. What better way to celebrate this award than a statement victory over Barcelona in the Champions League on Tuesday evening?
