This evening, Saturday the 15th of August, European Champions PSG have officially announced the signing of AFC Ajax and Belgium winger, Mika Godts.

Although PSG have not even played today, the fans have been served up a right treat by the club.

This morning, the signing of Spanish striker Ferran Torres of La Liga Champions FC Barcelona was announced for a fee of 50 million Euros, seeing him reunite with his former Spain national team manager Luis Enrique.

Then, this evening, the club officially announced the signing of winger Mika Godts of Dutch giants AFC Ajax, and the Belgium national team.

The club have confirmed that the 21-year old has signed a five year contract in the French capital, and will wear the number 22 shirt moving forwards. Very, very exciting things are happening.

This signing will provide some good depth for Khvicha Kvartskhelia in the left wing position, with Luis Campos using a proactive approach to prepare for the potential departure of Bradley Barcola, who has not yet left the club, and could play a part against RC Lens in the Trophee des Champions on Sunday evening.

It does make you wonder how it will work if, for whatever reason, Barcola does not leave, as Enrique would then have him, Kvaratskhelia and Godts as his disposal on the left wing, three top players for one position, so that is one to keep an eye on.

But, you would have thought that, especially with this signing being announced, Barcola will eventually leave, whether that is to Premier League side Liverpool or even somewhere else.

Anyway, as for Godts, despite being just 20 years of age last season, he tore the Eredivise apart, with 17 goals, 12 assists and 14 big chances created in 32 games (30 starts), just sublime numbers, especially at that age.

Even this season, he played just 29 minutes against Zwolle in their opening game of the season, and in that time he still managed to provide an assist and complete 3 successful dribbles. Just ridiculous levels of production. He also scored or assisted in all three UEFA Conference League qualifiers that he played in.

Having not been included in Belgium's squad for the FIFA World Cup, despite making his debut in March, he has a similar benefit to Kvaratskhelia in terms of having had plenty of rest during the summer, even with a couple of Conference League qualifying games in July. That can only be helpful to him and to Enrique over the course of the season.

Like with Torres, the clash with Lens will come too early, but perhaps we could see both of them feature against Rennes in the first Ligue 1 game of the season next week.
