Lille OSC president Olivier Letang says Ayyoub Bouaddi should stay another season, which could leave PSG out of the equation.
Paris Saint-Germain is making the necessary moves during this summer transfer window to reinforce its squad.
The 2026/2027 season is approaching, and the Parisian club has already announced the official signing of some players it had in its sights, but there is one that apparently will slip through its fingers: the defensive midfielder of Lille OSC, Ayyoub Bouaddi.
For months, Bouaddi, 18, had been grabbing headlines due to the high performance he recorded last season with the French team, so naturally, the big clubs turned their attention to him.
PSG was one of the suitors for the young prospect, but now everything seems to indicate that the Moroccan player's future is not with the Rouge et Bleu but with his current team.
Lille president Olivier Letang has commented on clues about Ayyoub's future. Speaking in an interview with L'Equipe, the Frenchman assured that very few clubs today can afford to have a player of the young defensive midfielder's quality.
He also assured that the best for Bouaddi is to continue developing in the environment he already knows, and although he cannot assure that he will stay, he is convinced that there is a high probability that he will.
"Everything remains possible, but in my opinion, he should stay with us for one more season. I am convinced that there is a very good chance that he will stay with us. And he would be very happy to do so," the president assured.
Despite the importance of his words regarding the player's future, he hinted that the door was open. Letang also admitted that they will be ready for any offer that arises in the coming weeks.
"We are very calm, like Ayyoub. We will take stock depending on what happens in the coming weeks. After that, you are right, we have to be prepared for all eventualities. If he leaves, we have to be ready," he concluded.
Lille will ask for approximately €100M for him, and since the world discovered Ayyoub Bouaddi's rising talent, Arsenal, Manchester United, and other big clubs have remained attentive to any movement, especially Manchester City.
Focused on reinforcing its midfield, the Citizens are pressing to sign him this summer, although Lille remains calm about it.
PSG, for its part, has so far remained on the sidelines and does not seem to be interested in wanting to fight for Bouaddi's signing, so a possible arrival at the Parc des Princes is ruled out for now.
