Today, on Saturday the 1st of August 2026, we take you through the latest updates regarding PSG and the transfer window, with Ajax and Barcelona involved.
It is safe to say that the transfer window has been really getting into the groove in the last few days, and PSG are absolutely no exception to that, with lots of news in the last day or so especially.
Earlier on today, Fabrizio Romano gave the Here we Go for the signing of winger Maghnes Akliouche of fellow Ligue 1 side AS Monaco and the France national team, which you can read more about here.
Anyway, without further ado, let's recap the latest news from today.
To begin with, this morning, French journalist Fabrice Hawkins confirmed that the club would not be trying to sign Strasbourg right-back, Guela Doue - brother of - this summer, and that moving to PSG just to be a back up player was not a priority for the player himself, despite the opportunity it would have presented him to be a team mate with his brother.
Meanwhile, after the news broke last night that the club were attempting to sign Ajax and Belgium winger Mika Godts as a replacement for Bradley Barcola, whom seems set to depart this summer at some point, Ajax director has given a quote to Dutch outlet Telegraaf.
He said the following: "We want to keep Mika Godts for at least one more season. We are extremely satisfied with Mika, not only because of his fantastic campaign last season, but also for his commitment and professionalism in training and beyond, as well as his willingness to improve every day.
We simply can't afford to lose him this season. In the end, players end up leaving. But it has to happen at the right time and for the right price, because we want to win titles." So, standing pretty firm. That said, it would be weird if he said: "Yeah he can leave, no problem." These things are pretty part and parcel of any transfer saga.
Meanwhile, to add fuel to the fire, Dutch journalist Mike Verweij has reported (in the same piece as above) that Ajax want to keep the player for another season and will not let him leave without a fight. That part, totally normal. However, he also says that it will be for a fee of nothing below 50 million Euros, with the Dutch giants wanting a fee "considerably higher than that". So let's see.
To finish things off, French journalist Santi Aouna has reported that Ferran Torres wants to leave Barcelona and join PSG, and has let his inner circle and team mates know that he wants to commit to the European Champions. Discussions are scheduled for next week between the two clubs in an attempt to reach an agreement.
Italian journalist Matteo Moretto has reported that Torres does not feel valued by Barcelona, and is open to leaving. Got to admit that is interesting. You assume it's because he's not a regular starter (well at least not as much as he would want), but that would surely be even more clear at PSG? Although there could be more domestic opportunities for him, so perhaps it does make sense.
