PSG shows strong interest in Parma Calcio 1913 goalkeeper Zion Suzuki following his standout performances at the 2026 World Cup.
The World Cup 2026 has left both soccer fans and big teams impressed by the great quality of players who appeared in the tournament, and among the impressed clubs is apparently Paris Saint-Germain.
Although many of the players considered 'discoveries' were already well-known within their clubs, the tournament has given other teams the chance to set their sights on them, and this appears to be the case with the Japan national team goalkeeper, Zion Suzuki, 23.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, as reported by Get French Football News, PSG is very interested in the young Japanese player for this summer market, and conversations to sign him have already begun and are advancing rapidly.
Suzuki has been playing for Parma Calcio 1913 since June 2024 and has stood out from the start. And despite his performance having some ups and downs last season, he is still considered very good.
But the Rouge et Bleu are not the only ones behind him, as Aston Villa is also on the goalkeeper's radar. The Villans are in search of a replacement for their current goalkeeper, Emiliano Martinez, who could leave the team very soon, with rumors from Italy linking him to Juventus.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano has also revealed that Newcastle United has been asking about Zion's current situation, assuring that Parma is aware of the big candidates and will choose the option that best suits them economically and that best fits the Japanese player.
Suzuki's arrival at Paris Saint-Germain could become complicated, not only because of the high competition, but also because it does not seem to be a very viable option at this time for the club.
A few days ago, it was reported that PSG goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier is ready to return and fight for the starting spot against Matvey Safonov, the goalkeeper who helped the team win this year's Champions League.
Both are very good goalkeepers, and that is without counting that, in early July, the official arrival of 18-year-old Alessandro Longoni was announced, who will occupy the third place in the club's goalkeepers' chain of command, so Suzuki would not have much room to fight for a starting spot.
With a contract valid until 2030, Zion Suzuki's future does not seem to be at Paris Saint-Germain for now, so it remains to be seen which other big team calls his attention and where he will go to continue demonstrating his skills.
