Maghnes Akliouche scores his first PSG goal against Le Mans FC and wins over the media, with coach Luis Enrique calling him the best of the match.
Last Saturday, Paris Saint-Germain faced Le Mans FC, and after a strong victory, fans saw the great talent one of their new players hides.
Although the match was tense for a few minutes as Le Mans applied pressure, PSG secured the three points, and, without a doubt, one of the most pleasing goals to see that night was that of the Frenchman Maghnes Akliouche.
Akliouche arrived at the Parisian club in this year's summer transfer window, and, to the liking of Parisian fans, he brought with him a strong record from his former club, AS Monaco.
For three seasons, the 24-year-old Frenchman maintained an average of 7 to 8 goals per season, and thanks to his ability to pose a defensive threat and his vision of the game, he was a regular participant at Monaco.
These qualities do not go unnoticed by the PSG coach, Luis Enrique. If there was a moment to score his first goal with the Parisian squad, it came in the match against Le Mans, and fortunately, he did.
This triumphant participation in the last match opens the door for the young right winger to gain confidence with the team and develop little by little, and it will be needed as important Champions League matches approach.
In fact, the newspaper L'Équipe gave him the highest rating, 7/10, ahead of his teammates Ferran Torres and Mika Godts.
For them, when Akliouche puts his mind to the game, the match's perception changes completely, making him more decisive.
"He scored his first goal with Paris Saint-Germain after what was probably his best performance. Beyond his usual activity, the Parisian made the difference with his passes and, therefore, with his goal," L'Equipe indicated.
Another French media outlet, Le Parisien, has given him a rating of 6/10, arguing that although that goal could be the great goal that propels his career with PSG from here on, his participation was not perfect and, according to them, he lacked a little consistency throughout the match, but he did not give up, and that was the important thing.
For his part, speaking to Ligue 1+ after the match, Maghnes Akliouche appeared quite happy and did not hesitate to clarify that scoring such a splendid goal is no reason to get complacent; he will keep trying.
"I am happy to participate in the game, but scoring is also a pleasure. My goal is to keep it up, and that is good. Is scoring like that a sign of confidence? No, of course not; it is about trying, participating in the game, and helping the team. That is my goal, and today I achieved it."
Many times, Luis Enrique is questioned about the players he chooses to reinforce the squad, but when it comes to the Frenchman, he has no doubt that he is a very versatile player who will be of great help, so much so that after the match, the Spanish coach admitted that for him, Maghnes was the best of the night.
"I love everything about Maghnes Akliouche, everything! The way he plays as a number 9, a winger, or a midfielder; his technical ability; his physical attributes... What I have seen does not surprise me, because I know the players before they arrive," Luis Enrique concluded.
