PSG will play six matches in 20 days after the international break, including Champions League clashes with Manchester City and Barcelona.
Currently scattered around the world, the PSG players will reunite starting the week of October 5th, with six major matches scheduled for next month.
PSG desperately needed to head off to international duty on a high note. After a difficult start to the season, the Parisians won Le Classique in Marseille (2-1) and now sit sixth in Ligue 1 with eight points.
But after the international break, Luis Enrique and his players won't have any more time to drop points.
Paris will return to competition on Saturday, October 10, with a home match against Le Mans. Surprisingly, this will be only the second Ligue 1 game played at the Parc des Princes this season. The first ended in a 1-2 defeat against Monaco on September 4.
Luis Enrique is expected to use this match to rest some of his international players. As he has regularly done after international breaks, the Parisian coach is likely to give Marquinhos and Willian Pacho, who have been on long trips with their national teams in South America, more time to recover.
Just four days after Le Mans, the competition level will rise significantly. PSG will travel to Manchester City on October 14th for the second matchday of the Champions League. After a perfect start to their European campaign by crushing Slovan Bratislava (6-1), the two-time European champions will face their first major test of the season at the Etihad Stadium.
Three days later, they head to Strasbourg for a Ligue 1 match (October 17), then face FC Barcelona in a second European clash at the Parc des Princes on the 20th. Two matches against City and Barça in six days should tell us more about PSG's level at the start of this season.
And the pace won't slow down immediately. Lyon will visit the Parc des Princes on October 25th before PSG head to Le Havre five days later. Between league and Champions League matches, Paris will therefore play six games in twenty days. A first major stretch for a squad that hasn't yet truly found its rhythm in Ligue 1.
